MAX HAYSLETTE/SOLO EXHIBITION
“Mid-Century Modern”
Designer and fine artist Max Hayslette creates a new series of work entitled “Mid-Century Modern”. Working in an entirely new method with acrylic and mixed media,
Max introduces this unique series that is colorful, textural and well priced.
“I start with a ‘quilt’, a paper collage of cut-out shapes and textures applied
to illustration board. The rough design is photographed and transferred
to the canvas via inkjet and then the painting process begins!”
With this new approach Max continues in the Bauhaus tradition of visual arts,
“art’s relationship to society and technology”.
“The combination of a long dance between memory and
imagination is the root from which my images grow”. Hayslette

by Robert Schlegel.
Schlegel’s acrylic paintings explore the tension between the representational and the abstract. He responds to structures, landscapes and animals in their surroundings with works on panel or canvas and often includes collaged materials in these images. Schlegel begins with a sketch in charcoal, graphite, or oil pastel, and then develops the image either in studio or en plein-air. Three Horses 30×60 Acrylic on Canvas
